1. Choose one message
First, decide what you want the reader to take away. Are you introducing a product, answering a common question or showing the atmosphere of your space? Give each graphic one main idea. A list of every service, your opening hours and three offers will be hard to understand at a glance.
Write the goal in one sentence, such as: ‘Show how my new ceramic mug is packaged.’ That helps you choose the photo, the short headline on the image and the more detailed caption alongside it. Be specific about the important detail and use the same voice you use with your customers.
Finish with one simple next step. An introduction might end with a question; an offer might explain how to enquire. ‘Which colour would you choose?’ is easier to follow than several requests in a row. Every post does not have to sell: a useful detail or an honest look behind the scenes can help someone who is getting to know your business.
2. Bring a clear photo you own
The ‘Start with my own photo’ option leads to the studio’s photo workspace. You can choose an existing JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 6 MB. On a phone, ‘Take a photo’ may open the camera; the available options depend on your browser and device.
Choose a photo whose subject is immediately clear. Keep other objects from obscuring a product and leave a calmer background for the headline. If someone else took the photo, check your permission to use it first. Editing your own photo does not require generating a new AI image.
3. Separate the image headline from the post caption
Put a short main message on the image: ‘New colours on the shelf’ or ‘A quiet coffee break’. Explain the details in the post caption. That is the place for contact details, ordering information and a simple question. You can rewrite the text in your own words in ShowLane.
In ‘Colours and positions’, match the background and headline colour to your photo. In ‘Image’, fine-tune the crop. Check that the text does not cover the important object or disappear into the background. Decoration helps when it makes your message easier to read.
4. Check the size and download the image
Choose a portrait, square, tall portrait or landscape canvas. After changing the size, check the crop and text again: the same photo can show a different detail in another aspect ratio. The image sizes guide lists all four ShowLane export formats.
The ‘Download PNG’ button exports your graphic at the selected size. Open the downloaded file, read the text, then place the image and caption on Facebook, Instagram or your chosen platform yourself. You can browse the examples and guides without signing in.
